While all the attention in the poker world is focused on the Main Event, where Ukraine’s Ruslan Pridrik continues to crack the top 15, there’s a lot of interesting stuff happening outside of the Main Event.

While the Main Event final table has yet to be determined, organizers have announced the voting results for the newest members of the Poker Hall of Fame. As expected, Matuso and Scheinberg were excluded from the nomination. Brian Rast received the most votes.

After winning the Poker Players Championship for the third time in his career, he was on track to enter the Hall of Fame. With a total of six WSOP gold bracelets, Rast ticks all the boxes: He plays expensively and extensively, has been a long-time performer and turned 40 last year.

“A lot of thanks to the current Hall of Fame members for the opportunity to select me,” Rust said after presenting the trophy.

As more and more players join, next year will become more difficult to determine. Required age.

After high-profile accusations and a ban from almost the entire series, Ali Imsilovic fell into the shadows and went unreported for about a year. Last month, he decided to break his silence, posting a video on YouTube in which he confirmed some facts of the fraud and flatly denied others.

However, he didn’t get much sympathy – most players laughed at Ali and didn’t believe his words. Apparently Ismirovic thought video could atone for all sins and started winning online again.

Ali came to the World Series of Poker and, oddly enough, entered a $1,500 tournament after registering. The $10,000 and $50,000 events are open on adjacent tables.

The match was held as a penalty shootout and Alli was at his best on the table heading into the second day.
